In 1995, the CD “Ginga” by Mário Raposo was recorded at Studio West in San Diego. Producer Fred Castillo led the backing band The Brazil Project contributing to the recording. The album features 10 tracks written by Mario Raposo himself, showcasing a mixture of different Brazilian rhythms including baiao, bossa nova, chorinho, samba and parte alto. Key players in this musical journey are Mario Raposo – soprano sax, Fred Castilho – drums, Cassio Moura – guitar, Cassio Duarte – percussion, Lynn Willard – piano, Dave Curtis – double bass.

Ginga, the album's title, represents more than just dance moves. It embodies flair, swagger and individuality.
