The album features 10 tracks written by Mario Raposo himself, showcasing a mixture of different Brazilian rhythms including baiao, bossa nova, chorinho, samba and parte alto. Key players in this musical journey are Mario Raposo – soprano sax, Fred Castilho – drums, Cassio Moura – guitar, Cassio Duarte – percussion, Lynn Willard – piano, Dave Curtis – double bass.
Ginga, the album's title, represents more than just dance moves. It embodies flair, swagger and individuality. It is the unique sauce that each dancer brings to their performance – personal expression through movement and musicality. Beyond just the physical steps, ginga is about presence, confidence and authenticity. It is the way we communicate with our bodies and express ourselves. When you move in ginga, you can't fake it – it's your personality, your voice, your confidence. It's not about perfection, but about feeling connected – with your body, with yourself and with your dance partner.
